Welcome

Photo of Dave Lupton, alias cartoonist Sox and Crippen.Hi Folks, my name's Dave Lupton - Cartoonist. Welcome to my web showcase, which will give you some insight into my published cartooning work over the past 30 odd years (don't look old enough do I?!) under my two separate alter-egos, "Sox" and "Crippen".

My mainstream alter ego is "Sox", and includes a number of classic series like "Laughabull" and "Driving over Lemons". Choose any of the "Sox" links for gallery samples.

I've also been drawing as "Crippen - Disabled Cartoonist", since the 1980's and although it's mainly fellow crips who know my work, it has appeared in mainstream press and on TV and film. Again, choose any of the "Crippen" links for gallery samples.

Latest Site Updates

What's NewDecember 2008 - Raining Cats and Dogs: The end of 2008 sees Sox in an animal frame of mind, with new galleries featuring cartoons of cats and dogs in Sox's inimitable play-on-words style, a must see both for those who love our furry pet friends and for those who might not.

Crippen also has a new e-book featuring cartoons from his Disability Arts Online blog through 2008. See the Crippen Products page.

1st September 2008 - There are two new galleries up this month: Property, essential reading if you are buying in Spain, and Bread, which is clearly the result of SOX being let loose with the weekly shopping ...

Sox galleries have also had a major overhaul to bring them into line with Crippen. I hope they are now a little easier to navigate and they will be updated with more information to help our Disabled devotees over the coming months.

22nd May 2008 - Dave is still working hard and has created a new book for you to purchase from the Sox Products page. It's entitled 'Global Warning' and looks at some of the issues around our changing environment - albeit looking through his legs! A few of the three block cartoon strips from this publication will follow soon in the Sox gallery section.

Blogging - And don't forget, with his Crippen hat on he's still blogging away on the Disability Arts on Line Link to www.disabilityarts.org web site, averaging four new cartoons every month. He's currently giving Gordon Brown a pasting for alleging that Disabled people aren't really human!
